Why wavelength matters
A hair-removal laser works by heating the pigment in the hair root. Skin pigment absorbs the same light, so on deeper skin the laser has to reach the root while passing the surface by. Longer wavelengths do that; shorter ones heat the surface first.
What a safe session looks like
A consultation first, with your skin type recorded. A test patch at the first visit, checked before the full area is treated. Cooling during treatment. A written aftercare note and sunscreen for the weeks after. Six to eight sessions, four to eight weeks apart, is usual for lasting reduction.
