Ask on WhatsAppA mole is a cluster of pigment cells in the skin. Most people have between ten and forty, and almost all are harmless. Some are raised, some flat, some grow hair.
A mole deserves a check when it is new in adulthood, changing in size, shape or colour, has an irregular edge, itches, bleeds or looks different from the others. On deeper skin, melanoma most often appears on the palms, soles and under the nails, so those sites are checked too.
A changing or irregular mole must be removed and examined to rule out skin cancer, which is curable when caught early.
Moles that catch on razors, collars or jewellery, or that you simply do not want, can be removed cleanly.
The process

In the clinic, usually the same visit:
